Sarah 's Story

September 6th, 2010

After reading the book, we immediately put our house on the market and began to make our "yard sale pile." We didn't know where we were moving, but knew that God wanted us to be willing to let go of our comforts. My husband is one of the engineers for the city of Auburn, and he heard about eMi, an organization out of Colorado Springs, and he knew the Lord was calling him to serve using his professional talents/gifts. Summary of where we are now: - House hasn't sold, but our view of it has! - Yard sale raised enough money to cover what was needed for husband's trip with eMi to Zambia. - He's in Zambia now for 16 days - left last Wed and is gone until the end of next week...I'm home all day with our 3-year old and 1-year old sons - but after reading scriptures, praying and reading Radical, my view of THAT has even changed! - Since he's been gone, our church friends have totally stepped in to take care of us: fixed my flat tire, took the car to the shop for me to get the tires replaced, called me daily to check on me and the boys, and even lined up meals for everyday that my husband is gone. Us serving the Lord has allowed others to serve the Lord...and that's just what we've seen so far! We used to say that we didn't have enough money to be able to give freely - and I am SO glad that's changed, as well! I love being in the middle of God's plan...the exhilaration of the ride and the joy of the Lord are incredible!!
